SUMMARY:2026 Drexel Maternal and Child Health Symposium: The Importance of Data to Advance Maternal and Child Health
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 2026 Drexel Maternal and Child Health Symposium\, “The Importance of Data to Advance Maternal and Child Health\,” co-hosted by the Drexel University Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health\, the Division of Reproductive\, Adolescent\, and Child Health at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health\, PolicyLab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia\, and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. \nThroughout this half-day event\, we will explore the importance of data in maternal and child health and how different types of data collection strategies and research methods are used to advance MCH outcomes. Discussions will highlight the importance of large state and national MCH data sets\, rich qualitative MCH data\, and data from community-engaged research. We will describe innovative data collection strategies and examples of how data is used to inform practice and policy. The symposium will demonstrate how data\, in its various forms\, is a valuable resource for researchers\, policymakers\, advocates\, and families interested in understanding and advancing maternal and child health. \nIn-person Registration: tinyurl.com/DrexelMCH2026 \nOnline Registration: tinyurl.com/DrexelMCH2026Online

SUMMARY:2026 NYULH Plastics and Human Health Symposium
DESCRIPTION:NYU Langone’s Center for the Investigation of Environmental Hazards (CIEH)\, in collaboration with the Food Packaging Forum\, cordially invites you to the 2026 Plastics and Human Health Symposium. \nThe event will take place on Tuesday\, September 22nd\, and Wednesday\, September 23rd\, at the NYU Langone Health Murphy Auditorium in New York City. The launch of this year’s event builds on the momentum of our past two symposia\, advancing our efforts aligned with the United Nations’ negotiations for a global treaty to end plastic pollution. \nOur third symposium is developed in partnership with the independent research organization\, Food Packaging Forum Foundation. The event will focus on individual environments where plastics abound and discuss the opportunities and effects of solutions\, with a focus on the science-policy interface. Already confirmed speakers for this year’s event include Professor Martin Wagner\, PhD\, Norwegian Technical University\, Trondheim\, and Chef and plastic-free advocate Johanna Hellrigl\, Ama\, Washington\, DC\, USA. \nThe symposium will highlight urgent needs\, present recent scientific evidence\, and serve as a continuation of our collaborative dialogue on the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee’s process toward a Global Plastics Treaty\, to ensure that the protection of human health remains a priority within this process. \nRegister here for this year’s event.
